The Beach On Sunday

A Monday With Adam

Today Adam came over for a shoot.
He has been approached numerous times by agents and designers about getting into modeling.
We decided to take some pictures months ago.
I kept on putting it off, but today it happened.
And it was lots of fun and relaxed.
The weather was beautiful for the first time in what feels like weeks.
No mugginess.
No perpetual beads of sweat.
The light was perfect just around seven pm and the slice of moon could be seen through the golden clouds.

Adam takes photos too.
His flickr is here...

Deep Hot Breaths

Had so much fun yesterday on Governor's Island.
Shot hats hats hats for Yestadt Millenary by Molly Yestadt.
They are such beautiful handmade creations. I am thrilled to have worked with such a talented designer who is carrying on the millenary tradition.
Do check out the website to see the looks.

Charlie Taylor did lovely make up and hair.
Matt Kliegman was doing video.
Male model extraordinaire, Lyle Lodwick, was there for the men's creations.
check out Lyle's sites at

Molly's beautiful sister, Dixie, modeled the women's looks.

It was hot, humid, baking weather.
My heidi braids did not save me from sweating like a mad woman...le sigh.

If only we didnt have so much gear we could have taken advantage of free bike Fridays on the island.

Here is Lyle as we were walking from the ferry.
I have never met a more bloody stylish man in a loooong time.
Men - watch and learn.

Next time....
Thanks to all. x

Senegal, 1963

(photographer unknown)

I completely trust the saying - "When one door closes, another opens; but we often look so long and regretfully upon the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us." (Alexander Graham Bell)

I hav to admit though, sometimes I would like to be able to sit in one room for a little while before moving on to another.

Make Up by Niki Manray
This image is unbelievable!

Colour Explosion

These shots of Carla Bruni from Vogue Italia 1996 are so amazing.
Like every flavour of popsicle available in the cart.
Photographs are by Javier Vallhonrat.

Isn't it strange how you can learn certain things about people straight away just by looking at
their computer?

Will Lewis, One Afternoon

A few weeks ago, Will and I went for a mid afternoon ramble along Bedford and Berry. He found some great art books someone had thrown away in the Village Voice dispenser. They are now sitting in my room.

Voluminous and Billowing

I have a blog with almost three years worth of collected images. It started small. I created it purely to serve as a means to remove all the thousands of images I have pulled off of the wonderful World Wide Web. But people seem to enjoy it and that makes me happy. Having your brain and eyes pelted with brilliant images, moving or still, is never a bad thing. x

Little Light

I am so very lucky to have the most amazing light in my bedroom.

A white wall and some beautiful light, whether cool and grey or warm and golden, is all you really need...

Here is Addie. I shot her for a couple projects about two weeks ago. These are images for my personal work. The story I shot involving Addie should be coming out next month.
